Downloading X-Lite:

The X-Lite software can be downloaded at Xten.com. You may be asked if you would like to open the file or to save it. It is recommended that you save the installation program to your desktop for easy access. **The latest version of X-lite is 3.0 and the configuration is slightly different.

Installing X-Lite for Windows:

To begin installing the X-Lite phone, double-click the installation file on your desktop. Simply read the instructions and continue clicking next until you reach a page with a series of check boxes. It is recommended that you select both "Create a desktop icon" and "Launch the application when Windows starts."

Press "Install" on the next screen. After the process has completed check the box that says "Launch X-lite." You are now ready to configure your phone with the instructions below.

Installing X-Lite for Macintosh:

To begin installing the X-Lite phone, double-click the installation file on your desktop. Next, click agree to the license, then drag the X-Lite icon to your Applications folder as instructed. Simply double-click your new X-Lite icon to start it.

Configuring X-Lite:

After installing and launching the softphone for the first time the SIP configuration menu as shown below should pop up. If you do not see this menu click on the button just to the right of the Clear button, then click System Settings, SIP Proxy and finally [Default].

Go through each line and enter the values as shown below. The phone number to use is the full 10 digit number assigned to you. The password field will contain the assigned SIP password necessary for the phone to register.

After filling in the fields you can close out of the configuration menu. You may need to close and re-open the softphone for it to register. When it opens back up you should see "Logged in" at the very top of the phone display as well as "Your number is:" and your phone number.

Next you will go back into the 'System Settings'.

Then choose 'Network'

Take out the secondary STUN server and provider DNS server, leave these blank.

Now go back out to the menu and go to 'Advanced System Settings'.

Select 'RTP Settings'.

Change 'Obey Reverse UDP Mapping Rules' to "NO".

Go back and select 'STUN Settings'.

Take out 'Discover Local IP Server' and 'Backup Discover Local IP Server' and leave both of these blank.

Once that is competed you can back out to the main menu and close the menu. These settings will be saved automatically.
